The Flynt Amtex history dates back to 1974 when the original company, Amtex, was owned by Ti-Caro, Inc. In 1985 Ti-Caro, Inc. decided to sell portions of its Knit Fabrics Group, which included Amtex, to Flynt Fabrics, Inc. Amtex was then relocated to Burlington, NC and operated as a division of Flynt Fabrics, Inc. In 1990 Amtex was spun out of Flynt Fabrics, Inc. and was incorporated in the state of North Carolina as Flynt Amtex, Inc. In 2006, Flynt Amtex Inc. was acquired by its current owner, Carriff Engineered Fabrics Corporation. In its earlier days, Flynt Amtex was a contract manufacturer for many well-known companies such as Oshkosh B’Gosh, Bali, Hanes, Fruit of the Loom, and Sara Lee. In the late 1990’s as garment manufacturing moved offshore, the company became focused on the medical and industrial market applications for its circular knitting capabilities. Today, Flynt Amtex has developed several patents and is a world class manufacturing operation utilizing custom designed high-speed manufacturing equipment to meet the demanding needs of its well-known clients who supply the industrial, consumer, automotive, pharmaceutical and medical product markets. Its products are manufactured in a wide range of sizes and knit structures, incorporating a variety of both synthetic and natural fibers. Flynt Amtex also offers a variety of conversion and finishing capabilities to its customers including contract cutting services utilizing automated CAD driven knife cutting and laser cutting. In addition to its 3rd party clients, Flynt Amtex is also a key supplier to CEFC’s other holdings which include Tex-Care Medical, Carriff Corporation US and Carriff Corporation - Canada. While not in its original facility, Flynt Amtex Inc. is still located in Burlington in the heart of North Carolina’s textile manufacturing region. Flynt Amtex currently operates from a modern, 120,000 ft2 manufacturing facility and is ideally situated on major transportation routes providing quick access to both domestic and international markets.
